The Fundamentals of Stand-Up Comedy, Lesson block 1-4:

Links to additional registration forms for Lesson blocks 5-35.

Introduction: these first 4 of my 35 lessons get you off on the right foot.
Both beginning stand-up comics looking for a leg up and seasoned professionals wanting to get-back-to-basics: begin at the beginning. . . . more info.
1) How to Tell a Joke on a Stand-Up Comedy Stage, During a Speech and in the Work Place, 3 hours
•Nuts and bolts of all joke-telling.
•Jokes, effectively delivered, go a long way to reduce tensions and further communications between a stand-up comic and his audience.
•The same principle applies off--stage to effective interactions at any business between the management, staff and clients.
Or any relationship between friends and family members, teacher and student, player and coach, etc. ...more info.

2) How to Write a Joke: the 7 basic joke forms, 3-4 hours
•Workshop contains a system for writing jokes that works for you every day.
•Learn the seven basic joke forms. ...more info.

3) Narrative Character: your persona, 3 hours
•How to naturally exploit your humorous side. ...more info.

4) Editing Your Comedy or Serious Speech into an Act, 3-4 hours
Both the serious and funny parts of your speech need to be tightly edited, just like a top-flight stand-up comedy routine:
•Ordering bits within your comedy act or speech for greater audience response: get bigger laughs and longer applause!
•Number and quality of laughs you need in stand-up comedy vs. in a keynote speech.
•The different standards between starting out with your "little league" local comedy club scene and clearly understanding the very different goals required by "major league" national TV shows.
•Polishing: punch it up, or edit it out! ...more info.

Jim Richardson will come to you:
Don't see a section with dates, time nor location that fits your schedule?
No problem!
The simple solution is for you to become a Starter Student.
Select:
"4) Optional scheduling 'Alternative Sections'" :
Example:
Our next webcam-to-webcam section is four non-consecutive Wednesdays, April 22, May: 6, 20 and 27, 2015.
The Starter Student began by submitting the form with their investment.
Next, their preferred schedule was discussed with me to find mutually convenient times.
Finally, the new section was listed as "1) April 2015 section"
Then, promoted in my twice-monthly email blasts, social media, traditional advertising, etc.

However, Succeeding Students who both sign up for the April 22-May 27 class and make their investment
•are then eligible to negotiate with the Starter Student and myself to change the initial schedule
•to one that better fits everyone's mutual availability.

If no one signs up for the Starter Student's section,
•that student still takes the workshop with me on their dates and times,
•only one-on-one which is a $2,400 value (12 hours x my $200/hour coaching rate = $2,400) vs. your $600 investment as a Starter Student.
$600/12 hours = $50/hour: such a deal!

More options:
Ask about added perks for hosting workshops taught by myself from my webcam
•directly to your computer connected to your wide screen digital TV in your home or office.
Then, everyone attending at your location can see the TV screen
•and I can see your performances of the class exercises through your webcam pointed at your shared microphone set up!

Jim, please email me when you have new three-hour Lessons taught live over the Internet which I take through my web cam:

This, so you can take all 35 Lessons from the comfort of your own home or office through your computer's, smart phone's or handheld device's Audio/Video webcam.
Most computers sold in the past few years come with a built in Audio/Video webcam:
look for a pinhole in the top of your smart phone, tablet (iPad, etc.), Windows PC or Apple computer monitor.

See above photos for example built-in webcam solutions: iPad, Windows PC computer monitor and smart phone.

Note: If you have an older computer, USB webcams are available at very low cost for both Windows PC and Apple computers.
See below photo of a Microsoft example external Audio/Video webcam solution:

Included:
Jim will meet with you online a week before Lesson One
to walk you through getting set up with some free video conferencing software.
This takes only about 20 minutes.
Relax: this is FUN!

8-)

These online Workshops let you get the same information as the in-person version of Lessons 1-4.

Ask about additional perks when you take the webcam Lessons with your friends over the same computer connected to a wide screen digital TV in your home or office.
