•Jim holds a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Carnegie-Mellon University's renowned Drama Department in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
Bachelors Degree in English and Minor in Television & Film Direction, plus a Masters Degree in Creative Writing, San Francisco State University.
He was awarded “The NDEA Fellowship in Playwriting” at C-MU, and has conducted Ph.D. Studies and Research at both C-MU and Harvard Universities.
•Artistic Director of The Redwood Empire Players (The REP), which was a semi-professional theatre group:
West Coast premieres of Broadway and Off-Off Broadway plays, including Neil Simon's "The Good Doctor" in Sebastopol's Veterans Memorial Building and on the stages at Analy & Santa Rosa High Schools.
1974-1983. Jim taught off-campus acting and production classes through Santa Rosa Junior College in both Sebastopol and Forestville, California.
He also directed films and TV shows, reviewed 250 movies/theatre/comedy shows for newspapers, including the San Francisco Sunday Chronicle Datebook.
Later 1977-1978, "The REP Revue" was created by the cast.
Jim edited/directed their original monologues, skits and songs.
This hit show toured professional theatre and night club venues throughout Northern California for 65 performances,
including being the invited company to the East Bay Theatre Arts Festival.
•Next, in 1980, Jim created the first Stand-Up Comedy Workshop taught for college credit in the USA at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California.
As owner of ORGANIZED COMEDY, he produced over 1,000 professional comedy shows in Northern California, including founding Santa Rosa comedy venues at night clubs: Jeremiah's Steak House and Sweetriver Saloon.
In 1981, he coached Ronn Lucas to win both the San Francisco and National Comedy Competitions on the Showtime Network, beginning his current career coaching & co-writing for professional stand-up comics and business keynote speakers.
•Jim's student and client stand-up comics have so excelled at writing, producing and hosting late night TV talk shows that they have won many national TV Emmys.
They have also hosted network television game shows, starred in TV commercials, and appeared on cruise ships & major Las Vegas venues as top headliners.
Plus, they are highly successful players in both the Corporate Entertainment & Training Markets.
One of his students even won the comedy category of Ed McMahon's "Star Search" TV show, $100,000.
Another student/client increased his keynote speaking fees to $10,000/speech x 150 speeches/year = $1,500,000/year income.
