Jim Dickenson of NCMUG has been kind enough to set up a listserv for our FCP SIG membership which will allow interested members and some invited experts to sign up in either of two modes:
1) In-time mode: means that you get the questions via email as they are being asked with maybe a 3 minute delay.
... Everyone who decides to sign up, begins with "In-time" mode which can be changed immediately to "Digest" mode.
2) Digest mode: means that you only get one email/day around 9 pm PST summarizing all the questions and answers posted that day. If there were no posts that day, you will not even get the 9 pm email!
3) You can instantly switch back and forth between these two modes using the commands below.
Once your subscription to the PVNB FCP SIG listserv has been authorized:
Your questions: If you have a question you would like to post to other FCP SIG members who are also authorized subscribers to the list, then you would send an email with your question to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The message would then go to all persons subscribed for "In-time" mode.
Your answers: If you have an answer to a question which you would like to offer, then you reply just to the message and your answer will go to everyone subscribed for "In-time" mode. If you do reply to a message, make sure to delete the original sender's email address, otherwise they get the message twice, once from the email and another from the listserv.
... Those subscribed for "Digest" mode get at most one email/day around 9 pm which contains all questions and answers posted that day; you can reply to any of these questions or answers by sending your email to the listserv at: email@example.com
Note: when using the commands listed below, please leave the message area in the body of your email blank.
