The audience will be the
ultimate judge.
If they laugh early, then
re-write the joke.
Once you are through with
hidden cue cards
and have finally decided on the
exact wording

focusing on the punch word
will aid memorization.
Never memorize a joke until you have tested it successfully before three (3) audiences.
Why?
Re-memorizing a joke is literally ten (10) times harder than memorizing it in the first place.
